Auto Updates not Working

Sprout Apps uses  Easy Digital Downloads and their licensing plugin to manage auto-updates, and even the best solution has its issues with some hosts. Here are some tricks to get auto-updates to work on some hosts that we know have issues:

Update Failed: Download failed. Unauthorized

The site your updating from does not have an active license associated with it. Possible causes:

  • You license is registered to another site. You can manage the sites tied to a license from the order history page - https://sproutapps.co/account/purchase-history/
    "Purchase History" > "View Licenses" > "Manage Sites"
  • Your license has expired and you may need to renew your license by repurchasing.

If your license is active and assigned to the appropriate site don't hesitate getting in touch via support.
